White House: 25% tariff on Chinese products worth $50 billion
After a brief "disarm" between Sino-US trade frictions, the Trump administration announced a 25% tariff on US$50 billion in Chinese goods. This move means that the US has officially provoked a Sino-US trade war.
On June 15th, US Eastern Time, US President Trump passed the White House statement: "Although my friendship with Chinese President Xi Jinping and the relationship between the two countries are very important to me, the trade between the two countries has been for a long time. Very unfair, the situation is not sustainable. Therefore, it decided to impose a 25% tariff on China's $50 billion worth of products, including "China Made 2025" related high-tech products."
A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce of China responded that we will immediately introduce taxation measures of the same scale and with the same strength. All economic and trade achievements reached by the two sides will be invalidated at the same time.
